2021 Shelter Pet Photo Contest
Submission Rules
Your $20 entry guarantees that your pet will be featured in a collage on the calendar, and you will receive a copy of the 2021 calendar.
Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from Nevada SPCA in order to enter!
All voters, and contestant entries must create a wordpress account for contest validation.
All contestants photo entries must be reviewed before going to the “Live Voting” this process will be completed within 24-48(Hours) of entry. Thank you and good luck!
Entering a Photo:
- Photos of cats, dogs, and small pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats are eligible. Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from Nevada SPCA in order to enter.
- Your photo should just feature only one pet.
- People are not allowed in your photo, only pets.
- All photos of cats must depict them in an indoor setting.
- We cannot accept Polaroids, heavily edited photos, photos with stickers or doodles, or any copyrighted or professional photos.
- Once entered, photos become the property of Nevada SPCA to be used for print and marketing purposes.
- Photo entries must be submitted by Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:59pm.
- Approved entries and voting will begin on Monday, October 19, 2020
- Participants must be 18 or older to qualify.
- Winners from each category (dog, cat, small pet) will be notified by early November. – Please refer to FAQ’s Section Tab
- Winners must be available to physically bring their pet to a scheduled photo session between Tuesday, November 10 – Friday, November 13, 2020. Photo session times and dates will be coordinated with each winner.
- Winners who are unable to attend photo session during the November 10 – November 13 timeframe may forfeit their spot on the calendar to the pet with the next highest votes in their respective category.
Rules – Voting:
- Online voting will end at 11:59pm PST on October 31, 2020.
*The ending time for online voting will be solely determined by the host website’s server.
How much is the entry fee?
The entry fee is $20. This fee includes one copy of the full-color calendar which will be available in November.
Additional photos will be available for purchase on our website.
You can make an additional donation during the entry process with each dollar counting as one vote.
All proceeds from contest entries will help us provide shelter and care for the homeless animals at Nevada SPCA.

How many votes do I need to have my pet featured as a Pet of the Month?
We want to make sure we feature all kinds of animals in our 2021 calendar. The top 5 dogs, top 5 cats, and top 2 small pets (bunny, guinea pig, or rat) with the most votes in each category will be featured as our Pet of the Month.
All submissions will be featured on a collage page in the calendar.
All proceeds from votes will help us provide shelter and care for the homeless animals at the Nevada SPCA
How do I vote for a pet’s picture?
Votes are $1 each, with a minimum donation of $5 for five votes. Yes, you can vote for your own pet’s photo (and as many times as you and your friends and family want!).
There is a social media link so that you can share your pet on your personal social media pages and encourage your friends and family to vote!
When does voting close?
Voting closes at 11:59pm PST on October 31, 2020.

Your generosity makes Nevada SPCA’s lifesaving work possible. Nevada SPCA is funded entirely by individuals like you. We do not receive funding from government entities or from any large national SPCA.
Dogs, cats, and other domesticated animals depend on people for care and survival. Every single one deserves kindness a loving home of their own.
Adopt & Foster
Please note: all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. All rabbits are spayed or neutered. These services are included in the adoption fee. Our actual cost per animal averages $350. Donations above the adoption fee do help other animals in our care. Thank you!
